GO!ng Borderless: Nova Gorica and Gorizia designing a unique space of sustainable innovation in the wake of the Capital of Culture in 2025

»In 2025, Nova Gorica and Gorizia can celebrate the culture of sustainable innovation by creating a unique space of shared innovation and collaboration and send a message to the entire Europe,« said Jurij Giacomelli, founder of CBA and President of the Italian-Slovenian Forum as a keynote speaker and moderator of the business meeting at X Center in Nova Gorica, dedicated to green aspects of economic development. He named this opportunity the »Laboratory of sharing«, as it came from the recent cross-border conference organised by the Italian-Slovenian Forum.

Last Friday more than 600 participants joined us in Nova Gorica and online for the Breakfast X event that primarily focused on the green aspect of economic development in the cross-border area. The conference was a part of the ongoing conference on the Future of Europe. Jerneja Jug Jerše, Head of EC Representation in Slovenia opened the event. Sašo Kogovšek, Vice-Mayor of Nova Gorica, Matjaž Valant, academic researcher and innovator from University of Nova Gorica and Tomaž Repinc, CEO of HIT also participated at the roundtable.

Giacomelli presented the opportunities arising from the green transition and the importance to apply circular models at the level of both neighbouring cities and the region of Goriska or Goriziano as a whole in the multi-cultural regional context.
